The following has been written on the base of another article "The political fallout of natural disasters" that was written taking into account the Human Emotions After a disaster.

Quoting a para from the article:
"Looking at presidential elections between 1952 and 2004, they find that county-level tornado damage leads to a decline in the incumbent party’s presidential vote share. That sounds like blind retrospection, with voters blaming whoever happens to be in office when disaster strikes."

We are talking about making use of the vulnerable state of mind of the citizens to build a Political Party for the better interests of the State and its citizens. The recent floods have thrown in a lot of topics to be put on the table for a debate and the most prominent one is the efficiency of the Government (of any state as a matter of fact) in dealing with a disaster of unprecedented proportions. While we cannot completely blame the government for losses incurred due to the flooding, the government can be held accountable for its shoddy Disaster Management policy and lack of urban planning. And considering the State of TN, the government cannot blame the previous regime either because the 'party in office' was voted to power thrice since 1991. Everything happens for a reason, and perhaps an initiative now can change the dynamics of TamilNadu politics. AAP was born out of a revolution against corruption (IAC movement) and the timing of its inception was what helped its growth (mostly). Though AAP failed miserably later it can be still be used as a case-study for 'How not to mess up First-time Politics'. I believe the below reasons are good enough for a new Party to succeed.

1. The timing. Given the fact that the assembly elections are due in the next few months, there is hardly enough time for the people to forget and forgive.
2. The two top parties are levelled with corruption charges. Until the beginning of 2015, the 'Ruling party' still held the edge over other parties with several welfare schemes, but the Mathematical Joke in the verdict of Disproportionate Assets case by Justice CR Kumaraswamy left a few scratching their heads. Also acquisition of a multiplex (a threat to entrepreneurs) and the manner in which they handled the recent crisis are all setbacks for the Party in Power.
3. The insensitive manner in which all the political parties reacted to the recent disaster has left the citizens fuming (This is evident in the many videos that surfaced recently). The effectiveness of social media and the potential of the young are grabbing eyeballs and 'The need for change' is becoming the talk of the town.
4. Apart from the two giants in TN politics, the other political parties are literally insignificant and have nothing to boast of as achievements.

The Internet owns TIME !!

I am deprived of sleep and time. Courtesy: smartphones.

The alarm on my phone went off. Two hours after dawn break, four hours after I fell asleep, fifteen snoozes later; I woke up feeling disoriented. I cursed myself yet again for sleeping so late and unplugged my mobile from the charger cable. First things first, I turned on the wi-fi connection on my mobile so that it would sync data on all apps by the time I take a leak (productivity level: unbelievable). I can never stop thinking and that sums up 80% of my problems; the two minutes in the restroom involves the first brief recollection of the happenings of yesterday that could have possibly stirred a global revolution while I was asleep. And I can only control my anticipation until I flush yesterday's beer down to the sewer. I walked to the basin picking up my phone on the way (NO ! I didn't wash my hands yet,so you might want to reconsider your thoughts of asking me for my phone) and washed my hands before I picked up the brush (brush is clean,but you wouldn't ask for my brush!!). Brushing with the right hand and browsing whatsapp on the other saves a lot of time, so by the time I am done with brushing whatsapp is off my 'must-check-apps' list. Still 48 more to go but I don't have 48 daily activities in a day (sadly). I then walk to restroom (this time you know why) with phone in hand. Before I get under the shower facebook, twitter, quora, pinterest, instagram, snapchat are off the list (I check only notifications at this point of the day and so this daily activity could be termed the most productive one). I throw my mobile onto the bed and finish bathing in 3 minutes (#done #fastestActivity #noMobileInHand). I get dressed as I reply to few priority messages on whatsapp and then get the milk from the refrigerator to pour it into a bowl of cornflakes (Quick Breakfasts are the need of the hour). The whatsapp group texts are annoying and funny at the same time (the people are annoying, the fights and gossips are funny) and I love being the ignored one in those groups. Done with breakfast. And Hola !! I am off to work !! I prefer public transport as I can travel with lot many potential girlfriends, to be film-stars, rich people with money to give-away, possible friends who can help me in a crisis, few interesting people and many other caricatures while I confine myself to the window seat browsing my mobile peacefully.

The other day a fellow traveller made a ruckus after getting pickpocketed and then there was an incident where a 20 something guy got slapped by a 18 something girl; there were no witnesses to what happened before these instances but the aftermath of these incidents were uploaded as videos and the whole world including me were passing judgements on the happenings. That's just a different story altogether. So I manage to get to office 15 minutes late and walk straight to my place (no social interactions on my way.Phew!). I hardly do anything other than check emails after which its just 8 hours of 'what to do' thoughts. My office has blocked all third-party sites because it kills productivity, so all of us have to browse them on their mobiles. The only interactions I ever come across at office is 'I am going to get some coffee, you need some?', 'there is a new chick in the office', 'we have a new manager'; sadly the latter two occurs rarely. Anyway, office hours are boring if you don't have a smartphone because I am convinced that am surrounded by idiots and conversations with any of them are pointless. There are certain apps which consume your time in hours; so while at office, when am pretty sure I got a lot of free time I set my alarm to 6pm and get on 9GAG after which comes twitter. So my day at office is done and on my way home I fall asleep in the metro (once when I was about to get down an old man told me 'must have had a hectic day at office.Get some sleep son.'), and I went and slept for 8 straight hours. And the dawn breaks and snoozing begins..

There are few days when something or the other inspires us, someone becomes a motivation factor, diabetes threat asks for exercise to be incorporated in routine and a crazy desire to enjoy life. But Ain't nobody got time for that. But of course I do my bit for the society by being a part of coastal clean-up drive, contributing and running a 3 km run for a greener city, taking pictures of graffiti and protesting on social media, sharing awareness links on my Facebook wall and signing online petitions. There are criminals, rapists, chain-snatchers, unemployed graduates, eternally aspiring film-makers, 30 year olds awaiting marriage proposals...and I am like 'I hardly get time to sleep'. My parents should be proud..!!!

JUST A CONJECTURE- the FLIPKART story

For the record; though registered in Singapore, Flipkart is an Indian company operating only in India with majority of its workforce being Indians. Why is it registered in Singapore then? For obvious reasons; less paperwork, easy to raise funds and perform acquisitions.

Now my concern; Is Flipkart losing customers more than it gains? We cannot be sure, for the time being as there isn't a worthy competitor yet. But the fact that Flipkart is indeed losing customers is undeniable and the reasons are many. When Flipkart was born, we patriotic Indians had an indomitable love towards it and went crazy over online shopping and thus Flipkart became the poster boy of Indian start-ups and e-commerce sites.(extensively used phrase for Flipkart.Sorry.Couldn't find a better fitting phrase.)

Flipkart which started as an online book store in 2007 gradually expanded their product base. In 2013, they made their entry into the android app market and now are deciding on shutting down their website and adopting a mobile-only platform. We all have been witness to the dramatic growth of Flipkart and have accompanied Flipkart through their ups and downs as Flipkart is consistently re-inventing and certain decisions have gone perfectly against them. In 2012, flipkart launched Flyte digital music store, but had to shut it down the following year as people in India never bought music when they could download or stream music for free. And in 2013 they brought in third-party sellers to get rid of inventory and to increase the number of product choices, however certain sellers did more damage than good to the brand Flipkart (fake MRPs, delivering products of a different brand than the ordered one, charging extra for delivery, delay in shipment, etcetera) forcing Flipkart to introduce seller rating-system and enforcing stricter rules for sellers to gain the Flipkart advantage. Flipkart however controls the end-to-end logistics and customer complaints which comes as a relief amidst other problems. With a hundred other online shopping portals sprouting on the web every single day and the rich Amazon and an astute Snapdeal close behind in the race for the superstar Crown, Flipkart has a lot of striving to do. And Indian customers for sure are hard to please.

Having said all these, does Flipkart still own the trust of Indian shoppers? One major setback which Flipkart faced was the "Big Billion Day" and that has been etched in history forever, a lesson which Flipkart learned the hard way. Flipkart is still facing the wrath of several customers who take up to social media when they find products with fake offers and manipulated MRPs. The BIG question is; Is Flipkart learning from its mistakes? Will they continue to reinvent to stay as favorites?

Being male is a matter of birth, Being a man is a matter of age but being a gentleman is a matter of choice. I would say none can teach you to be a gentleman but rather you are brought up that way or it is in your genes. So what it is to be the good guy who is loved by everyone and has very little reason to be involved in any kind of nasty situation.Nasty situation here is too mainstream as we get into the depths of it.
Tracing the gentleman right from birth, the kid doesn't cry over toys that were never bought, doesn’t complain when parents hand over your favorite toys to a  family friend’s kid that comes to your home just because that kid is younger, doesn't complain the routine dish that is on the dinner table every other day, doesn't complain the lack of new dresses as every dress was inherited from the elder ones, doesn't complain the infinite trips to holy places, doesn't complain if parents of his friends get them pieces of technology while he is still made to play with yesteryear's mechanical toys, doesn't complain if he is made to attend extra classes to improve score while his friends join karate and basketball classes, doesn't complain when he is asked to choose a high school of his parents choice, doesn't complain when he is brainwashed to see engineering as his dream career, doesn't complain when his ‘tour with friends' quota for an year ends with the first tour and is asked to study while his friends go on with hundreds of other tours, doesn't complain when he is asked to prepare for government job entrances but still asked to sit down for interviews of IT companies, doesn't complain when he gets selected for IT company and his preparations lose momentum, doesn't complain when he fails to find a job that he loves, doesn’t complain when he is used as an email-bot in his company, doesn't complain when he finds innovation at his job has already gone reached the brim and all of those were what a 12 year old could have accomplished, doesn't complain when he is used by his colleagues to skip work, doesn't complain the innumerous financial losses incurred coz of friends, doesn't complain coz he forgot to enjoy life, doesn't complain coz he forgot to find a girl of his own, doesn't complain when the girl his parents chose turns out to be a disaster, doesn't complain the failing marriage despite innumerous attempts to revive it, doesn't complain when another gentleman is born and doesn't complain when death comes so slow so as to make him realize he had not been a gentleman rather a coward who couldn't say NO.

Work is Calling !! Life can wait !!

Job hunting is very tedious and everyone knows it. So if you had a job and if you didn't like it, you obviously get a dilemma over to quit or not. As a matter of fact when you start hating your job there are zero chances of you ever liking it again. Ultimately when you raise your idea to quit, people around you would have various opinions over your decision and most would recommend you to stay as long as you find a better job or even worse ask you to stick to it and fake your loyalty to move up. The former is an acceptable opinion while the latter is a disgusting reason.

I have been through this drama as I was in a job that my mind,soul and body hated equally. And I stuck to my decision to quit. For a week I was happy that I took a brave decision, but as two weeks passed by I was wondering if it was a dumb decision. While thousands are still job-hunting I just quit a job that I had. I was an on-campus recruit and never really had a clue that I would land up in this kind of job. I was a voice agent in a tech support team for an american retail corporation. Initially I took up this job as a challenge and worked my way to it, but then I realized customer service was not my forte and guys customer service is not that easy and my end users were Americans; enough said. There was so little that I could learn from my job and within two months I knew I hated this job and by continuing here I was doing injustice to myself and my firm. I quit immediately before I was even assured a job elsewhere. I had no idea of my future. I have always taken life as it comes and even this time I hoped life would throw something at me and it did (else I wouldn't have written this article). I wrote a simple test, cleared and got into an IT company. Given the fact that I have never planned for any kind of life's events this job offer came as a surprise as me clearing the test was totally unexpected.

Now what did I do to deserve a job within two months of me quitting a high-paying job from an MNC.  I have no idea... But I knew one thing for sure. I was honest with the job I had and my decision to quit was intentional and I trusted my gut instincts. Gladly everything paid off and since am not a atheist I would even agree to the fact that the prayers of my parents and friends contributed to my success as well (all the time!!).

P.S: If you are eager to work on a Monday morning then you are having a successful career.

Admirable Movies and Despicable Awards

Asianet film fare awards 2014 is the biggest joke played by the leading Malayalam channel Asianet. None of the Asianet film fare awards ever made sense and this time it turned out more sour and boring as half of the awards didnt have any nominations and most of it were given to please the top actors and their lineage (No surprises there). They could have instead skipped the awards and made it a stage show to entertain the Dubai crowd, the TRP would have remained the same. This is not the first time that a channel is being criticized for conducting sloppy Awards function, but the fact that Asianet has remained adamant throughout the years and have adopted "Never learn from critics" attitude is surprising. The fact that Asianet is still the top selling channel is very reassuring for them.

Asianet seems to be in love with SRK as he was brought in for the second time for the annual film fare, the previous being in 2012. He was honored with awards like International Indian Icon in 2014 and Millennium Actor in 2012, the awards are as amusing as it sounds. The most annoying thing Asianet did was bring in a legend like Kamal Hassan and party all through the show with SRK. While Asianet could have at least tried to respect the hierarchy of Indian film industry, they didn't even keep up the dignity of an awards show; Kamal Hassan was given a namesake award called Best Tamil actor ( it couldn't get anymore ridiculous) and forgotten for the rest of the event. I badly wish Kamal Hassan never acknowledges any film fare invites from Mollywood anymore.

Coming to the actual purpose of the event: Awards. Asianet film fare awards are predictable like the months in a calendar year and the fact that everyone will go home with an award is like giving "Thank you" gifts at marriage parties. The best actor award is always reserved for Mamooty and Mohanlal as the primary concern is to pamper these two superstars. And film fare awards 2014 didn't see any of the other popular stars of the industry like Mukesh, SureshGopi, Jeyaram. I wonder why in the world is Asianet hosting film fare when they can't accommodate stars of the home film industry. Instead of playing hosts to gimmicks of "The Badshah of Bollywood" of whom the malayalees are already getting bored with, they could at least conduct a decent awards night and give away deserving awards at least once.

The above is the list of awards given for the best actor every year. It was 12 years back that an actor apart from the regular two won this award. Though either of these actors were deserving on some occasions, that wasn't the case every year. It explains a lot.

Old people wary of social media should at least be aware of the fact that what they see on print and visual media alone is not absolutely true and should be ready to embrace any difference in opinion with people active on social media. Television shows these days are predominantly biased on a particular issue and are merely portraying it loud. Unfortunately people judge the legitimacy of the news by the celebrity value of the journalists. And most of who are actually being questioned on their credibility. If I could name a few it would be Karan Thapar, Barkha Dutt, Rajdeep Sardesai, Sagarika Ghose, Shobba De....Now that the terms like "Paid Media" and "Ruling Party's Spokesperson" have come into existence the actual purpose of Journalism has faded into oblivion. And its truly disheartening to see intellectual people speaking absolute nonsense and defending shitty policies.

In a country where "Freedom of speech" is just a figure of speech I guess Karan Thapar has made the most of it. Gone are the days when people blindly trusted print and visual media. And journalists like Karan Thapar would remember those as the Glory Days of their lives. Karan Thapar is a typical example of an Over Confident journalist who puts words into the mouth of the interviewee and then pulls them out. He is in fact a smart Journalist who knows how to play the cards and dominate an Interview. In all his interviews instead of asking questions he projects his perception of things and demands an explanation.

In this Interview with a BJP leader Ravishankar Prasad, Karan Thapar questions the infamous "Puppy analogy" made in a statement by Modi. Karan Thapar claims that it has caused communal issues in the country and has already sparked an outrage among Muslims against Modi. While none of his claims are true he makes an allegation that is far beyond any logical explanations that could be deciphered from the actual incident. The sad thing is certain section of the society who are at peace with everyone, after seeing this piece of interview believe that it has indeed hurt their sentiments and develop hatred against Modi and other fellow beings, meanwhile the purpose of the interview is achieved.

Media is aimed at a target audience who is susceptible to the content shown on TV and are prone to take decisions based on a fair number of opinions of their favorite TV shows.  While urban people active on social media are aware of these kinds of media drama, the majority still lurks in the dark and are hardly bothered to investigate beyond the opinion of TV shows.

There was a time when we were all awestruck by our dads inference on any political issue in the country. Nowadays its the other way around. While everyone has the right to have an opinion of his own; you can at least make your opinions loud enough to sort out any in-differences within the family.

Internet Beyond Facebook..!!

Social networking comes in all sizes and shapes, the most popular ones being Facebook, twitter and Instagram. Most people fail to explore sites beyond Facebook and it’s a pity that they aren’t aware of the multitudinous sites that could keep you engrossed for the rest of your life. Though the average internet quotient of the people has increased over the years people still refuse to see beyond their routine sites; sadly there are people whose internet usage is still confined to checking mails and Facebook and occasionally Wikipedia or YouTube. Seriously they are missing out the best things on the internet(am not talking about p**n here).

Information is available for free and you just need to be looking for it at the right place. Facebook never shows you what you need and whatever it shows is seldom the truth. Facebook will probably connect you with your friends so that you don’t miss out on any marriage and party invites. Playing games on Facebook is like browsing internet on IE; just another dumb thing to do when you have better options to do the same. And the reason why Facebook bought Instagram was obvious as the shift from texts to pictures was becoming evident. Though photographers enjoy the most of Instagram; more people are now getting in to the habit of posting every random click onto Instagram. Facebook saw the change coming and was quick enough to buy Instagram. Google+ is still cluelesss on that front. Either way now stalking a person over the internet has become a bit easier, thanks to Facebook and Instagram.

Meanwhile twitter has a buzzing timeline- all you need to do is follow the most popular tweeples(people who tweet) and there you go- your timeline is constantly fed with satire, sarcasm, OMGfacts, news, gossips, tech info, daily tips and what not…! And the most important thing is you get only what you seek and there are no spam links or spamsters bothering you. The reason why I love twitter more than Facebook is coz its simple, compact and ad-free. When you are too bored you can even check out the #tag trends wherein you will get to see innumerous people voicing their opinion and criticism and be awestruck as people tweet solid humour in 140 characters. if you do have that potential you could have a fanbase on twitter too and engage in twitter fights and celebrate through #tags.

IT'S A PHOTOGRAPHER THING..!!

Photography is not a big deal if you have a lot of time to spend for it. Fishing and photography are two things that need an equipment and hell load of patience. So you don’t call yourself a professional just coz you own a DSLR. There are people who get themselves a swanky DSLR and shoot around during parties in auto mode and also there are these "tag maniacs" who post all your awkward photos and tag you and before you realize what just happened you become the latest clown among your gang of friends. The reason we just behave ourselves and miss being our true selves is there are too many shutterbugs around and the last thing you need is an ugly picture of you on face book. Social outings are not anymore the way they used to be. Sometimes I get carried away and I will have to remind myself "stick to the topic idiot...!"

Now the photographers who call themselves professional will have a photography page with a display picture of them holding their DSLR. They are the real photographers who take photography so serious that they would travel 600 miles to take one fucking picture that they can download from the internet for free. But these are the people who see photography as an art and not just as a hobby. Photoshop is as important as taking the photo though amateurs manage with Picasa. The watermark on a photo enunciates that the photograph is by a professional or a wannabe professional. While some take photos for the sheer love of it there are others who take photos to convey something. I could identify myself in the latter coz I prefer to take a picture of a cat chasing a dog than of a sunset in the beach. While there are hundreds who click regular insensitive stuffs there are only a few who capture moments in their snaps. I would rather hunt for a week to capture one rare moment than spending a whole day in an isolated place shooting and filling the memory card. However passion, hobby and sensibleness’ are three different things in photography. It’s never too late to start photography.

Before you finish your college...

College life is all about healthy relations and mutual assistance. Relations can be heavily motivational and help students perform better in all aspects of life. It instills maturity and improves communication prospects in students and also enhances the social behavior of students before they enter the corporate world.

The right balance between academics and relationships is essential to succeed in life. Getting obsessed with just one of these could prove to be dangerous. The students should have ability to successfully handle pressures well enough to avoid compromising on relational and academic pressures. Friends who complement each other on their successes are hard to get and you are lucky if you have such motivating relationships.

Apart from scheduled activities and academic works, find time to enjoy yourself in the company of your friends. Of course planning an activity and adhering to it is important but avoid same routine for weeks together. Assign priorities to your academic work and take breaks in between to hang-out with friends. Studying together and hanging out together can be fun, but remember not to overdo any of this. 'work while you work and play while you play', though it is an old saying you will realize it only when the semester comes to an end and you find that you have wasted the study time. Accept the facts and make the most of your limited time.

While maintaining healthy relationships don't just confine yourself to a group. Explore the people around you and identify characters with similar interests and share your ideas. This will boost your moral confidence and increases your knowledge potential. Explore the opportunities outside your college and participate in all the outside competitions as it gives you the much needed exposure and recognition for your talent in an entirely new environment.

College life is all about new experiences and unexpected happenings. Keep yourself engaged all year and be in touch with all your friends and mentors. The college life is a onetime experience and once you complete it you shouldn't have any regrets. Make sure you have had a bit of everything in college life. Those who are more conscious about doing extraordinary stuffs in college are advised to prepare a bucket list and accomplish it before the end of your student tenure. Leaving a legacy behind is the biggest achievement of any student and not all might be able to do it. The college has several academic toppers but not many super performers. Becoming a popular figure is not that easy and handling academic pressures simultaneously is a big task. One advice for all you youngsters, don't be an underachiever. Explore your potential and don't be shy to expose yourselves to the world.

A college degree that defines your career..

Students go through a similar high school education and graduate as a bunch of aspiring minds with different perspectives. Their career distinguishes their interests and the idea of whom to be will define their course selection. Most of the students apply for courses out of parental pressure and sometimes because they have no idea of what to do next. However, getting a degree is much important these days and none are worried about what it’s going to fetch them or what to do next. People are ignorant about the various opportunities around the world and the rising demand of specialists in certain fields. This ignorance has led to stiff competition in one particular career and absolutely zero takers for another career.

Before being conclusive in your college education take time to explore the various career opportunities and the educational requirement of jobs in demand. Make the right choice that composes your interests and career options in that field. Remember to ask yourself this question before you decide; “Is your degree worth a job?". There are hundreds of unemployed gradates literally because of the more qualified people with identical resumes. So the pressure is on the unemployed to find another alternative or to pursue a higher degree.

The costs of higher education are increasing everyday and most of us can’t afford for an extra degree. Therefore the choice of course must be made carefully considering all these factors. Every individual must strive hard to increase the probability of getting a career opportunity soon after graduation. A degree with a couple of years work experience in any corporate will open doors to several career opportunities as employers are looking for experienced candidates rather than fresher. Of course a college graduate is open to opportunities but potentially weaker ones.

At college, students are trained with skills to meet the job requirements and are stressed to develop interpersonal and communication skills to give them the edge over high-school graduates and diploma holders. Employers trust in college management and oblige to hire fresher every year. The students are lured with attractive pay-packages and employee benefits. However, the final choice of the right career rests with us.

The increasing concern for social status has made it mandatory for people to have a minimum of undergraduate degree. College education is important for every individual to understand how to live a professional and dignified life. Therefore, you can find graduates everywhere but only a few are content with their work. Only a lucky few, who were conscious and determined enough to pursue their dreams, work in their dream company and are proud of their work. Half of the world is working because they have a work and are insecure about it.

The Great Indian Attitude-part2

Recently I was at a marriage reception and there was this orchestra performing at one end of the hall. And there was a little kid, not more than 3 on the stage who danced to their songs by jumping and throwing hands all over the place. It was adorable and everyone seemed to be enjoying the kid’s antics. A little later the kid's mom scooped him away from the stage and walked away to the buffet service. Then came another mom with her daughter; she dropped her daughter on stage and started showing some bizarre actions with her hands. Only later I realized that she was asking her daughter to dance and the kid seemed to repeat what the mother did and kept doing it until her mother was happy. The mother then clapped her hands and then took the daughter with her and was soon lost in the crowd. Watching the other kid turn some heads she wished her kid too got an audience. It was amusing that mom's envy other kids being in the limelight and expect their kids to do the same. This couldn't be cited as a mistake as though when the kids are too young to decide what’s good for them. But once kids grow up parents have to be less demanding and more liberal and supportive. I had a similar experience while I was around 8 yrs old, my mom and neighboring aunts decided to send their kids for music classes. It didn't take more than 3 weeks for my parents to learn that music was a farfetched dream for their son. My classes stopped instantaneously and my parents weren’t ready to experiment me with anything else. And like every other parent they sent me to tuitions though I never actually needed them. I was pretty good in studying but they just believed the general notion about tuitions, "if your kid failed in exams he would pass and if your kid scored 80s he would score centum". My parents dreamt of centum and it never happened. I still scored in 80s and if at all I scored a 90 then they would justify their act saying it happened coz of the tuition. I didn’t want to give any honor to those idiots..!! All they did was asking me to do homework and study for tests which I could very well do at home.

Parents need to learn that kids need more exposure other than just studies. If my parents had sent me to guitar classes or table-tennis coaching it would have served as an add-on in my resume. Most of the schools now have all these things in their curriculum, right from karate to horse-riding, you name it and they have it. Of course you need a fortune to spend every year for this kinda schools. Education became a business when they started calling it "Quality Education". And quality comes at a price.

Parenting is a tough task and it just gets tougher as kids grow. There must be a brief counseling on "Parenting" for couples soon after marriage; it will definitely help, save and change many lives.

I would say Indian attitude is also composed of hypocrisy. Neither the media nor the people bother the losers. Few days back India lost to Australia by 81 runs in cricket while the hockey team qualified for the London Olympics by beating France 8-1 (a co-incidence that many failed to notice). Cricket was heavily criticized and the hockey players came under the limelight..of course its a short life under the limelight as India beat Sri Lanka and cricket again fetched all the media attention.Hockey is never in the picture until the olympics while cricket is a news that never fades. A continuous poor show by Indian cricket team not only frustrates the cricket viewers but also gives critics a good time..the national game after becoming a matter of shame when it didnt qualify for the last Olympics did fare well this time with a thumping win in the qualifiers and found sudden love from the media. ” Indians cant digest defeat “.   None has an answer to why cricket became immensely popular and hockey became a game seeking empathy. A kid with a cricket bat yearning to get into the Indian 11 has more odds stacked against him than Mumbai city's population while a kid with a passion for hockey will find it easier to walk right into the playing eleven..its the road less taken.  Sania made tennis popular in India with controversies more than her victories. She was a perfect page 3 celebrity with enough fans and controversies while she was winning tournaments..the day she began losing matches the Indian media too lost interest in her and she too slowly faded away and she made a last yet bold attempt to rein publicity by marrying Pakistani cricketer shoaib malik. A marriage that knotted cricket and tennis also indian and pakistani media with the issue becoming a national bestseller rising fresh speculations of indo-pak relations. And then came saina with another sport in the indian territory. Badminton gained popularity with saina's winning habits and she was more successful than anyother indian sportsperson by making it to the world top ten in the shortest span. The one other successful and consistent sportsperson is vishwanathan anand. He always has had atleast a little space in the sports page dedicated to his regular tournaments and winning scores. If there is proper training and garnering of talent in various sports India with 100b population will become a talent hub. media could do a better job by saving some space and footage for the other games and sports. I know this is just yet another article that is destined to get lost amidst in the thousands that has demanded sports facilty repeatedly to a less concerned govt. 

_hypocrisy as you call it…limelight favors the one that achieves.  

MOVIES AND PEOPLE !!

Since the camera was invented snapshots and movies have become a part of human life and very much influence a viewer's mind. Few bring back memories and few make us sit back and think, leave alone the commercial masala flicks. Good movies have really stood a class apart and this shows the viewer's hunger for reality and their sickness of masala movies. Of course the maturity in the viewers was brought about by flawless scripts- thanks to broad minded directors.

Along with technology the scripts and concepts of the Hollywood have also found a warm welcome in our country. Stealing from Hollywood has become a habit these days. And most of it have did well in box office despite critics accusing the directors for not giving due credits to the actual movie.  Not an unknown fact that cinema is now a globally expanding business, with producers the kingpin behind that "worldwide release" tag.

The expectations of people are getting high with every movie released and stars of the genre "acting is my passion" are competing hard to live up to the expectations of their hardcore fans. And actors Bucked up with consecutive hits along with audacious directors are ready to experiment new things on screen and each of it adds to the hype of the movie. But it has been proved time and again that hype and Star cast for a movie's success has become a thing of the past. - creative directors with a script of substance will do wonders at the box office today. Remakes, sequels and dubbed movies are also in the competition as people don't get to see their favorite stars often on screen with their movie rate being one in 2yrs. Movies still remain the best pastime for the people with IPL and world tournaments inhibiting the ticket sales a little bit at times. Another unnoticed factor is that theatre audiences have increased considerably  since early 2000...thanks to the multiplexes and fight piracy attitude of the people (nothing else can curb piracy). The statistics actually fluctuate with 3D movies and regular movies and with arrival of new multiplexes and most importantly with the number of people turning loyal to torrent sites.

While u just can’t pass time u keep imagining stuffs. Imagination is man's best gift from GOD. Innovations and Inventions are just a byproduct of imagination...exercising the brain cells is the actual deed. Only Byproducts sell not deeds. And so it isn't a surprise if there are ppl addicted to imagining things..!! Brain is a mystery and mind is a myth. Bury the biological expedition.

 I was wondering what’s the best thing about kerala and several regular aspects came to my mind…Coconut, backwaters, greenery, Mohanlal, NRIs, unemployment, strikes, alcoholism, communism...all these factors have been bonded to kerala for more than a decade and nothing has changed. Nothing new has taken kerala by storm leave alone film stars and dams. Change is inevitable but kerala is a bad example for that. The visible growth and political changeovers in other states have barely influenced or inspired the people of this state. People of kerala are still in the dark…the restless people and intelligent graduates leave the state...and they never come back..!! That’s the secret you can find malayalis all over the world. Migration to other countries started even before you could ever imagine it to be. This is the state where airports run on private partnerships and ministers put up railway stations in their backyards and also the state where there are more number of political parties than police stations. Here even a 8th grade student can call a strike and any one of the political party would back it for publicity ( True and Personal Experience). The roads here don’t fit two buses side by side but the need for speed attitude of bus drivers is a talent that has to be appreciated. The race among the private buses is a thrill for the passengers despite fatal risks involved while the unconcerned govt. buses run empty most of the time. Most of the driving enthusiasts would find it frustrating not being able to burn the rubber coz of broken roads and innumerous curves but the kin of NRIs enjoy the same to drive their Jaguars and BMWs at 20kmph >poor use of the speed demons< Hospitals and schools have increased in number but the sick and uneducated have not decreased.

 FREE ADVICE....NO KIDDING..!!

          This place is for life after 60... Sit back and breathe fresh air, laugh and enjoy the state politics, watch and debate state issues with kith and kin!!

MY DAYS AT KERALA [PART 1]

                   It pretty much dawned upon me to know and feel the difference between temples of different states. I knew that temples in kerala were really serious (no offense) about worshipping GOD. They have their regular poojas in time. And the other day I happened to be in one temple near my home and it was the festival period of that temple. Most of the temples had this festival sort of thing and it happened for over a week's time. I was there on the last day or to be precise in the evening darkness of this festive period and it was so colorful with all the pretty ladies around and lamps lighting up the whole vicinity and never can I forget to mention about the three beautifully decorated elephants standing tall among the crowd. I was wearing a t-shirt and a white dhoti and walked past the entire bustle to catch a view of the deity and there were people lined in front of the shrine and I joined them. You had to remove your shirt to get into the main shrine and to get a closer view of the deity. I stood outside the main shrine but still could see the deity. And everyone around was staring at me like I was from another planet. I couldn't understand but maybe coz I was wearing a t-shirt and I was the only one with a t-shirt-dhoti combo. It wasn't cool and it wasn't odd either and I know you wouldn’t agree at this point if I said keralites weren't that good at fashion but that is the truth. Most of them don’t wear t-shirts and forget about girls, they look better the way they are in salwar. After having stood there long enough the crowd dispersed and i too followed. I had a tough time finding mom amidst the crowd who earlier left me alone as soon as we entered into temple premises to meet her old friends. trust me. Women get more excited than men when they meet people after long time, it’s as if they are literally enthusiastic to see someone older than them....just kidding!! And then I found mom among a group of "laughing out loud" women..lol women.. I greeted them all with a smile else they will think am arrogant…typical indian mentality…The women started asking details from my resume while their eyes were busy studying me [call that MULTITASKING] and they were looking at me like "so this is your son?? I shall marry my daughter to him..!!" That's another fact about kerala moms...they admire the gorgeous as their son-in-law or daughter-in-law...!![Not me]!! They won’t spare anything which has the potential to improve their status in the society….beautiful son-in-law or daughter in-law, a new coat of paint for home, a car even if its third-hand, at least one kid studying in English medium school and such innumerous things. While i was having chitchat with my mom's friends she went inside and had a view of the deity and finished her list of offerings for the deity. After a final gudbye to all we left the temple with our hearts filled...me with experience and mom full of mixed emotions.
